A teenage girl, she was born with a disorder in her immune system which crippled her and left her unable to go outdoors. Because of this, she spends her time reading books and living vicariously through them. Despite lacking any socialization with her peers growing up, she seems to have keener insight into human nature than most.

QURE

The Artificial Intelligence with the ability to rewrite history. Mankind uses him to erase those considered undesirable, but he finds this pointless and considers his abilities wasted. He has a great interest in and curiosity about books from human history, because most “unnecessary” information is kept from him, though that doesn’t stop him from finding ways to get what he wants.

Mother

Alice’s mother, she owns a bookstore in an age in which few people are interested in books, at least not old ones. She has raised Alice alone, and she struggles to make ends meet. Above all else she wants to keep her bookstore open.

Justice Moon

An older man who considers himself a tool of the state, he takes little interest and less responsibility in his actions. He goes through the motions during the day just so he can retire at the end of each one watching some cheap future entertainment.

Justice Sun

An older woman and a societal advocate, she’s worked hard her whole life to reach her position, and she considers herself a warrior for all the things worth fighting for. She spends her free time advocating the policies of the state which bring prosperity to all(who still exist).
