CLUB RULES AND GUIDANCE NOTES

1.      Officers and tutors of the club give help and advice in good faith and only within the limits of their experience and knowledge.

2.      Neither the club nor its tutors nor officers can be held responsible for any problems nor consequential problems following any advice given and that any changes to members’ computers as a result of any comments or advice is done solely at the risk of the member.

3.      Any changes made to a member’s computer by one of the clubs officers will only be carried out after the full approval and consent of the member.

4.      Please appreciate that the aim of this club is to enhance its members understanding of computers, not to offer a computer hardware repair service.

5.      We aim to address your individual computing needs at our weekly meetings.  We try to offer a wide variety of talks based largely on your suggestions.  Any questions should be made at this time, as the answer to your query is likely to be of general interest to other members. A Question/Suggestion box is also provided. However some tutors are prepared to receive emails and phone calls at home, but please respect their time and privacy.   This service, however, will normally only apply to members who take an active part in supporting our club by reasonable attendance at the meetings. Quite often, the advice sought has already been covered by other questions or activities during the meetings.   Also, the interaction between members discussing their problems and interests is a most valuable aspect of the club and a significant way in which members’ computer skills and knowledge are developed.

6.      The annual subscription of £10 does not, in itself, entitle members to request advice and support.  As this is a club, members are expected to attend on a reasonably regular basis but we do appreciate that holidays and long term illness are inevitable.

7.      Occasionally one of our helpful team may consider making a home visit, but this is at the discretion of the officer or tutor involved and should not be considered an automatic right of members.

8.      Please note that club services are for members only.

9.      If you have downloaded any programs or files during a meeting please delete before the end of the meeting unless otherwise instructed.

10. Members should attend at least 24 (50%) of our 48 yearly meetings.

If a member fails to attend the required minimum, his or her membership shall be subject to termination unless the committee consents to such         non-attendance as having good cause.

The committee reserves the right to make exceptions to this rule where very special circumstances prevail.
