Pastures New update 8th November, 2009

Some of you may have already heard that sadly our President, Frank James, has opted to leave the Club.  I think it is best that you read what he has to say in his own words and on his own website (Frank's website).  We, the Committee have replied to him, on behalf of us all, saying that we respect his wishes and how much we will miss him (our reply).

Frank has replied to our reply and you can read it if you click here Frank's reply
(Note: the reply is on his Blog dated Friday, Nov 6th)

What's on Thursday   12th November, 2009

THE FORUM   (Lionel)

Assuring you of my best intentions and to try and promote use of the Forum I have altered the existing settings, so that now whenever a new 'Discussion Group' is opened or if someone adds a comment to an existing discussion then all members will receive an copy of that communication as an email. This will save you from having to keep looking to see if something new is added and also alert others should you make an entry yourself.

If you find this is intrusive  (should everyone go mad and start posting multiple entries to the forum daily ha, ha) then you can alter, or turn off, this feature yourself. To do this just go into the forum and click on 'Edit My Membership' you will be able to see the setting that you are now on and also the other three options that you can choose from:-

No Email I will read this group on the web
Abridged Email (No more than 1 email per day) Get a summary of new activity each day
Digest Email (Approximately 1 email per day) Get up to 25 full new messages bundled into a single email
Email (Approximately 1 email per day) Send each message to me as it arrives

The link below will take you directly to the 'Edit My Membership' page, should you wish to alter it.

Regarding Swine 'flu' (The Committee, dated 22/07/09)

During the current situation, certain guidelines have been offered to the population when in public places:   e.g. washing of hands, using wipes before you use equipment (if you wish). But most is common sense; please do not attend the club if you have  a bad cold or "'flu  type symptoms.

For Frank's Website see 'Try Linux' in the sidebar.
