Hi Sisters! Here are the paragraphs for the philanthropy chair elections for next year's E-board. Please read them over, so that you are ready to vote at the next chapter. Philanthropy Chair Kathleen Casey Hey Sister! I'm Kathleen and I am running for Philanthropy chair. Some of my favorite moneys from ESA have been during Gobble Fest and Battle of the Bands and I what to be Philanthropy chair to make sure that we can help raise money for Saint Jude's through making these events a success. I have been organizing events for my internships during the three years that I have been at GWU and in my current internship, I am working in a high pressure environment and coordinating the meetings and lunches for various Democratic members of Congress. My Main goal as Philanthropy Chair would be to increase the name recognition around campus about our two main events and try to find new innovative ways to raise awareness and money. I am excited to think about coming up with new ways to facilitate fundraising events that can build upon the successful events that we have held at Crepeaway and Pita Pit. Thanks so much for considering me for Philanthropy Chair, and I hope I will have your support next Sunday. Shannon Dragsbaek Hello, I am Shannon Dragsbaek, and I have loved being able to get involved with ESA this year. I really like the people that I have met and the opportunities I’ve had to get involved within the DC community and within ESA. I think that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is such a fantastic organization to raise money for, and I want to be able to be more involved with it. Working on the Drawing Committee a lot this semester and tabling, I got to get involved, but I would love to do more, which is why I am running for Philanthropy Chair. I am a very organized person and keep things in order very well, with the help of many handy lists and my invaluable planner that I take with me everywhere. I also tend to work well coordinating with other people, which would make dealing with numerous committees a smooth process. Growing up, my parents often made me make my own phone calls to schedule appointments or deal with tech issues, so I also have a lot of experience dealing with talking to strangers on the phone. I am outgoing and friendly in all of my interactions with other people and strive to always be professional in my interactions when need be. If you elect me for Philanthropy Chair, I promise that I will give ESA and St. Jude Children’s Hospital the attention and dedication they deserve. Sarah Kranau Hello again, ladies! I’m back, and this time I’m running for Philanthropy chair. This election has been a blessing in disguise for me because I’m so happy to have been nominated for next year’s Philanthropy chair position. As Drawing Committee Chair for this year’s Battle of the Bands, I got the amazing opportunity to work closely with the wonderful Ms. Lauren Thomas and learn all about the ins and outs of creating an amazing Battle. As Drawing Committee Chair, I gained valuable experience in the world of philanthropy, and I’m excited to use the skills I learned this year to make next year’s philanthropy efforts the best that they can be! I am extremely organized, enthusiastic, and I manage my time well, all necessary traits for someone in this position. From Gobblefest to Battle and everything in between, I am ready to commit myself completely to making our philanthropy efforts amazing. I believe that Executive Board positions should reflect who can truly do the most to benefit our sorority, and I have the utmost faith in next year’s elected E-Board. I would be honored to have the chance to join this great group of girls. Alex Kolev Hey girls! I’m Alex and I’m running for Philanthropy Chair. I’d love the opportunity to be on ESA E-Board in order to further serve our chapter with my organization and leadership qualities. Through my experience with various clubs in high school, I have familiarity working as a liaison and reaching out to organizations and businesses in the community. I believe these skills would help me effectively perform the position of Philanthropy Chair. I am also very passionate about our philanthropy. Having been affected by cancer in my family, I would be very active in raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to help them continue their mission in saving children from cancer and various other disastrous diseases. Together with my experience, I feel that this passion and devotion would make me a qualified candidate for ESA’s Philanthropy Chair and I would love your vote! Thank you! Katie Griswold Hola mis amigas! Thank you for nominating me for Philanthropy Chair! Ever since I joined ESA in the Fall of my sophomore year, I have loved every moment spent with my sisters. I felt that I belonged the second I attended my first sisterhood retreat 2010. Being in ESA has ignited my passion for service and has helped me realize how important it is to help those who need it most. I want to do whatever I can to help ESA expand and continue to help the DC community as well as raise awareness and funds for St. Jude's. As Philanthropy Chair, I would devote my time to promoting and innovating our philanthropy events so that more students on campus and more organizations in the DC community get involved. These events are always quite successful, but with all of the crazy dedication and talent in our chapter I know that we can make them so much better. Than you again for considering me for this position. I cannot wait to back with all my sisters in the Fall! Chau! Lauren Corsello Hi Everyone! I’m Lauren Corsello and I am honored to accept this nomination for Philanthropy Chair! Joining ESA has been one of the best decisions I have made so far during my time at GW. Even though this is my first year, I have already made so many great friends and memories in ESA; all the while fulfilling my passion for service, which is why I would like to become more involved with our chapter. Being philanthropy chair would be the perfect opportunity for me because I know I can fulfill my passion for giving back, which is something I can never get enough of. One goal would be to include more involvement from the sisters by hearing their ideas and helping me plan our fundraising and two main events throughout the year. Another goal is to be recognized at the national level during ESA Heart St. Jude Week, which means having new and more fundraising events. I feel ESA Heart St. Jude is a time when all of us are united to help our philanthropy so I would really like to build on this next year. I know that we can raise the most money we possibly can to give back to St. Jude Hospital if I (with your help too!) put in some hard work, determination, and creativity to pull off the most exciting, engaging, and fun philanthropy events for next year! Anisa Sanghrajka First off, I would like to say thank you for this nomination from one of my lovely sisters! I am honored to have the opportunity to run again for an Executive Board position for Epsilon Sigma Alpha. I am very passionate about ESA and would love to be even more involved this coming semester! I would be honored to hold the position of Philanthropy Chair, as I know that my efforts can have a direct impact on the organizations that we raise money for throughout the year. During the past two semesters, I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in Gobblefest and Battle of the Bands and I now truly understand the importance that these events play in our fundraising efforts. I understand that Philanthropy Chair is a position that involves a great amount of effort, and I admire Lauren for her amazing ability as chair this year! It has always been in my personality to learn and to try my best in whatever new experiences I take part in. I truly believe that if I am fortunate enough to get the position that I will be the best Philanthropy Chair I can be. I have held Executive Board positions for the National Spanish Honors Society and Student Council in High School and feel that my experience in both of these organizations has provided me with the organization and communication skills needed to succeed as a member of E-board. Thank you for the opportunity girls :) Colleen Teubner As philanthropy chair, I will utilize my organization skills to plan successful events, such as Gobblefest and Battle of the Bands. I would coordinate events and fundraisers leading up to these events in order to raise awareness of our cause. I am currently on the Eboard of the Fencing Club, and I know the logistics of running an organization. I have planned fundraising events and have ensured their successes. I would devote my full attention to ESA in order to guarantee a generous donation to St. Jude. |
