Delta Zeta Alumnae

Wondering what your graduated sisters are up to these days?
 
Here is what some of our sisters are doing!



Alpha Class

Katie Curcio After graduating from GW with a BA in Speech and Hearing Science, Kate went on to earn her MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Long Island University.  She is currently a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist in Darien, Connecticut. She works at Darien High School, providing speech-language therapy to students with a multitude of disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Learning Disabilities, and Language Disorders. She is also a member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department Axillary, and an active advocate and volunteer for the ALS Association Connecticut Chapter.  


Beta Class

Shayna Priluck After college, she moved up to New York to pursue her Masters at NYU in Human Resources Management and Organizational Development. She spent her first few years working at Axiom, a hippie law firm, where she helped build and run the Human Resources Department. Now, she's a Talent Specialist at Deloitte, supporting, staffing and coaching over 200 tax accountants. When time permits, she teaches Executive and Business Coaching courses to NYU masters students. She lives with her boyfriend who was her next-door neighbor freshman year of college. After 8 wonderful years together, she's hoping to be able to call him something else in the near future. She has stayed close to her community service roots, as she currently supports many organizations in New York. She's run in races to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund, raced up the stairs of Rockefeller Center to raise money for MS, and has painted picture frames with kids living with cancer, at the Ronald McDonald house (in addition to many many more!).
 
Helene Wren lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Jaime. Professionally, Helene writes books on Oregon wine country and does gem faceting. Helene volunteers with a rabbit adoption group, Rabbit Advocates, and other community groups in Portland. Jaime and Helene are expecting a baby in December 2011--- gender to be announced at birth!


Gamma Class
 
Shannon Esty attended University of Maine Law School and is now a lawyer in Westbrook, Maine at Seacoast Law and Title.

Allison Seitchik is currently a third year PhD student in Psychology at Northeastern University in Boston. Most of her time is spent working on her disseration which focuses on the effects of various motivational factors on performance (e.g., academic, athletic) and planning her August wedding to another GW alumnus. 

Raychel Sirois moved home to Boston and went to Suffolk law school. She graduated in 2009 and passed the MA bar exam. She then proceeded to use her fancy new degree in the only way currently available to her - as a waitress! After a few months she was able to get a job handling trust administration with Bank of America. She lives in a small city about 10mins from Boston with her boyfriend and is technically the ESA alumnae coordinator for the area though they haven't done anything just yet!
 
Folake Oyegbola is currently living in Tanzania! She is a Peace Corps volunteer and is teaching science to secondary school students in the Southern Highlands of Mbeya- one of the regions in Tanzania. She is also currently working on a girls club called Girls Lead. It's a super fun group that meets once a month and discusses topics ranging from finances to world culture to health. There is also a service component all members of the club must take part in! There is a small membership fee and all the funds raised go to a local charity. They are planning to introduce another income generating project of bracelet making in which the students will create, as a club, and will sell to help in their goal of community service.


Delta Class

Yasmeen Shaheen-McConnell is currently doing programming for the Arab American Institute and Foundation in Washington. Yasmeen has also continued her work with a AmeriCorps as she was a 2008 AmeriCrops member.  She is currently living in DC.

Lindsay Edwards just graduated from veterinary medicine school at Cornell this May and now has a job working at Champlain Valley Veterinary Services in Plattsburgh, NY. Now she gets to help animals AND people!


Epsilon Class

Stephanie Sears currently works at a non-profit mental health agency called Community Connections.  She is a Community Support Specialist and works with women who have a major mental illness and a trauma history.  Prior to that, she did AmeriCorps and worked at an ESA favorite, DC Central Kitchen, as part of their street-level homeless outreach team.  She is interested in going back to school for her Master's in Social Work, but is not quite ready to leave DC to pursue it.  I live with Lindsay Gsell in Columbia Heights!


Zeta Class

Christina Cacace is originally from New York City and recently moved to Atlanta. She works for CNN as a Librarian and an archivist. She does video research, selects video from affiliate stations so that it may be archived for future use and she archives daily CNN, CNN International, Headline News and CNN en Español programs. She loves it!!  She also received her Master's in Library and Information Science from Queens College.
 

Sara Loftin is a first year medical student at Georgetown University and is living in Arlington, VA. Sara has an ESA legacy as her sister, Rachel, was once Rush Chair!

Anna Maynack is currently working on her masters in Marine Biology at College of Charleston and living in Charleston, SC.

Carolyn (Lynnie) Moore After GW, she did two years in Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan and now she is back in DC working for an international development firm on a global health contract for USAID.


Eta Class

Signe Hawley This past year Signe worked for Mile High Youth Corps, a division of Americorps, which ended this fall, and just got back from 2 months of traveling in South Africa and Mozambique!

Carolyn Schintzius is currently living in Arlington, VA. Carolyn recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity with some of her co-workers.


Theta Class

Miriam (Mimi) Keil Mimi graduated in 2009 before becoming a Teach for America Mississippi Delta corps member. She taught 7th grade for two years in Holly Springs, MS near Memphis. She recently moved back to the District and now works for a not-for-profit organization that provides books to low-income kids. 

Emily Roseman is currently living just a hop, skip and jump away in Columbia Heights and would like some visitors! She is working in the Global Health Bureau of USAID, supporting the work of several international family planning and reproductive health projects.  Emily is LOVING her job.  She plan on staying for the next two years or so then going on to pursue a master's in something economic development...

Hope Tenenbaum moved to the Philadelphia Area (Ardmore) in August 2010.  She currently works as an ABA therapist in a few different schools in the area with autistic children and loves it.  She is also getting her master's in education and a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis with the hopes of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) once she graduates (not to teach). She is in school part-time and will finish in May 2013. She misses everyone and ESA in general and is very excited for the Alumnae event in the winter. She is so proud of everything that ESA has done!


Iota Class

Rachel Loftin is currently working for ACDI/VOCA, an international economic development non-profit organization, on Capitol Hill. She lives in D.C. in Bloomingdale. She continues to pursue volunteer opportunities through Greater DC Cares.

Hannah Lipman is currently working at a patent law firm in very close vicinity to GW and is loving how consistently she runs into current ESA sisters during her lunch breaks!


Kappa Class

Katy Rendleman Since graduation Katy had a little baby girl (born November 18, 2010) named Charlotte Grace. She is now two months old and quite a chunker! She's loving staying at home with her while her husband finishes learning to be a helicopter pilot for the army down here in Southern Alabama. They will probably be moving soon-hopefully overseas- and she is currently applying to graduate schools in Speech Pathology.

Marissa Bialecki is living in Washington, DC.  She is currently working for an education association, ASCD, doing public relations and communications. Marissa continues to write her own food blog, Bon Appetit Foodie, and writes about the DC dining scene for We Love DC. She's happy to see all the progress that ESA keeps making since she's graduated!

Laura Levine is currently working at Obama for America Headquarters in Chicago, on the Digital Team. She is having a lot of fun and very busy!

Lambda Class

Megan Findakly spent her summer, after graduating from GW in 2011, studying Arabic and going crazy on adventures in Oman, and loved it! Currently, Megan is living in New York CIty, and working for a healthcare consulting and private equity firm, working on a task force to help restructure health care systems in the Middle East. Megan misses her sisters of ESA and loves hearing from them!
