WHAT IS AN ELECTRONIC PORTFOLIO? 

It's a concise, annotated collection of student work that reflect a selection of his/her performance. Gughlin (2002) mentions that it serves as record of learning, growth, and change, as well as provide meaningful documentation for students' abilities.

ADVANTAGES OF E-PORTFOLIO USE: 

  • Allow students to assume ownership and control of their own learning.
  • Motivate students to p`roduce high quality work because it can be easily shared to audiences abroad.
  • Provide both teachers and students with the opportunity of feedback.
  • Provide a concrete basis for discussion.
  • Electronic portfolios are readily accesible to interested parties via the Web.
  • Can store multiple media
  • Easy upgrade and organize
  • Allow cross-referencing of students work via hyperlinks.

DISADVANTAGES OF E-PORTFOLIO USE:

  • Staff development for classroom teachers
  • Access to multimedia computer with digital camera
  • Internet access in the classroom
  • Web page development skills for teachers

  • Decide waht software program you will use to create/mantain the portfolio.
