Library Staff

Mrs. Sherrilyn Morris has been Morehead's librarian since 2002. She has a B.A. in English and American Literature and a M.S. in Library Science. She taught reading and English for twelve years before becoming a librarian.  She loves spending time with her husband, her son, and her dogs and cat. She also enjoys working puzzles and playing games.  Here is a picture of one of her dogs, Buddy. He loves treats!

Ms. Consuelo Perez is the part-time library paraprofessional. She has worked at Morehead for many years, and is dedicated to the library. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

Checkout Policies

Students may check out two books for up to four weeks. Back issues of magazines may be checked out for one night at a time. Videos and audio books may be checked out once a signed parent permission form is turned in. These forms are available in the library.

The EPISD requires that students be charged for items that are turned in late. The fee is 10 cents per day per item. The maximum charge per item is $5.00. Students with any overdue materials will not be permitted to check out again until all overdue items are returned. Students with fines (but no overdue books) will be limited to checking out one book until all fines are paid.

Upcoming Events & Updates

Reading Raiders: Read 15 or more books and receive a certificate at the end of the year. For each additional 10 books, you will receive a gold seal. Read over 50 books and receive a medal in addition to your certificate!  Books read over the summer do count. Pick up a Reading Raider form in the library today.

Free Rice: Help feed the world!  Go to www.freerice.com and earn 10 grains of rice for every question you answer correctly. It takes 19,200 grains of rice to feed one person for one day. Get a Free Rice form in the library and see how many people you can feed this school year. The students with the 5 highest totals at each grade level will be recognized at the end of the year awards assemblies. As of the end of October, we have earned almost 600,000 grains of rice. Raiders Rock!
