WELCOME parents and students! I am very excited to begin the 2009-2010 school year at Dr. Hornedo Middle School. I hope to spark interest in the area of mathematics, encourage students to take ownership of their current and future education and of course, be successful.  

This is my fifteenth year of teaching. I started in YISD at Eastwood Middle. I enjoyed my seven years there, but felt it was time for a change. I wanted to be closer to home, as my children were getting older (now 9 and 15). This will be my eighth year at Hornedo. As my students will attest, I love teaching math (and get a little carried away at times). I hope they too will someday live out their dream; I still look in the mirror and can't believe I'm actually a middle school Algebra teacher.  My husband, Oscar,  and I have two boys who keep us very busy with every sport possible. He is a 6th grade math teacher at Wiggs middle school (our kids better like math....or else, right?).  We're NMSU Aggies, but please don’t hold that against me. J I'm here to help students and I am open to any helpful suggestions.
