About this Class
Writing web applications is an integral part of any brick-n-mortar business wishing to create an online presence. Web programming skills using HTML, Javascript, and Ajax languages are in demand. Review the course calendar. First Six Weeks - Learning and using basic HTML code creates a needed background. Programming skills migrate to Microsoft FrontPage HTML editor in week 3. Second Six Weeks - Basic JavaScript coding is introduced into HTML. Embedded and external JavaScript is learned and used in HTML, including the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Third Six Weeks - Ajax is a used for creating interactive web applications. Web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing web page.
| Homework
Homework assignments will occur daily during the first six weeks. During the remainder of the semester, each student will be working on an individual programming project. Devoting time at home or during after school lab insures completion. Visit Projects for a current listing. Class Rules Every student must be seated and working when the tardy bell rings. Choosing to be tardy results in detention after school that same day.
