Important Dates- mark your calendars

·         Band Camp Aug 15-18, 2011

·         Sept 21, 2011– Ephrata Fair Parade – will we be marching in the parade,

·         Band Buddy Night – Sept.30, 2011- the students will perform their music that they learned at band camp at a HS Football game and spend the evening with the HS band members in the stands cheering on the team  (No rain date )

• Band Camp will be held the week of Aug 15- 18, 2011 from 8:30 am – 12:00 noon- percussion will stay till 1:00pm.  There will be a concert on Thursday Aug. 18 @ 12:00pm noon for family and friends
• Everyone should have returned a band camp registration form (even if you can’t attend) the expectation is that everyone that is in band should be at band camp unless they are out of town. We will be learning a lot of new things that you will need to know at the start of school.
• What to bring to Band Camp:
• Water
• Sun tan lotion
• A hat and sun glasses- understand we will be outside most of the time
• Your music and Instrument- it is expected that you will be practicing your music over the summer and you are to come to band camp prepared (if you have parts you do not understand or have difficulty in learning that is ok, do your best)
• Sneakers - no open toes shoes or sandals – we will be marching and sneakers are the only type of shoe that is safe.
• A great attitude and you should be ready to have fun!!!!
• Music:  You should have the following music in your folder:

The Power of LOVE

SUV warm up

The Star Spangled banner (except percussion)

Percussion only – Back Beat

• Percussionist will also have “Back Beat” which is our marching cadence

All band members will get more music at band camp

• You will need to purchase a Flip File and a Lyre   - You can purchase these the first day of band camp- check can be made out to Losers Music
