May 16 - 7/8 band after school rehearal till 4:00pm
May 17- 7/8 band and mixed ensemble concert - 7:00pm - 6:30 - report time
May 18- 7/8 band to Hershey for Festivals of Music Competition
 
May 23 - 6th band after school rehearsal till 4:30pm
May 24 - 6th grade concert - Band /orchestra and Chorus -7:00pm - 6:30 - report time

PSSA week 6 and 7/8 band schedules

Monday 3/19 -7/8 Full band
Tuesday 3/20- 7/8 percussion only
Wed 3/21 - NO BAND - NO Pass this day
Thursday  3/22 - Normal band
Friday 3/23 - Normal band
 
6th grade WILL NOT have band or lessons ALL week due to testing

No band on March 12 because of Thon assembly- Lessons will be normal
The rest of the week will follow a normal schedule

Tuesday -- Feb. 7: Full Band day ( this is change for this week only)

Wednesday --Feb. 8: Full Chorus Day

Thursday --Feb. 9: Full Chorus Day

Friday – no band ( Mr. Goss is not at school and we have no sub)

Monday = Feb. 13: Full Band and Orchestra ( no percussion students as per our new schedule)

Tuesday - Feb. 14: Full Chorus day -- percussionist only for band

Wednesday - Feb. 15: Full Band and Orchestra

Thursday - Feb 16: Full Orchestra day         normal band day

Friday – no school for students – teacher in-servce

EPHRATA MIDDLE SCHOOL MARCHING UNIT SANDWICH SALE

All sandwiches are made by Weaver’s Markets in Adamstown. The subs are 10 inches long and the ham & cheese sandwiches contain a ¼ pound of ham.

This is your chance to earn some funds for our spring trip to Hersheypark! Ask your family to purchase sandwiches for their dinner on Tuesday October 18, 2011. Earn more money towards your trip by getting additional orders from other family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

Sandwich Descriptions:

(Sandwich types will be denoted by colored twist ties on the bags as noted on the order form.)

American Sub (Cooked Ham, Cooked Salami, American Cheese & veggies)

Italian Sub (Hard Salami, Cooked Salami, Provolone Cheese & veggies)

Turkey Sub (Turkey, American Cheese & veggies)

Ham Sub (Ham, American Cheese & veggies)

Ham & American Cheese on a Kaiser Roll (includes mustard packet)

Ham & Swiss Cheese on a Kaiser Roll (includes mustard packet)

50% of the profit earned on each sandwich you sell will be credited to your student account to be used to offset the cost of your trip to Hersheypark in the spring.

The more sandwiches you sell, the more money you can

earn for your student account!

Completed order forms must be handed in to Mr. Goss by the end of the school day on Tuesday October 11, 2011..

Orders cannot be accepted after this date!

Be sure to include your name and phone number on the form.

All money will be due when you pick up your sandwiches at the EHS cafeteria on;

Tuesday October 18, 2011 between 5:30 pm and 6:00 PM.

Sandwiches must be picked up at that time – No exceptions please!

(Your order form will be returned with your order.)

Checks should be made payable to the Ephrata Band Parents Association (EBPA).

We appreciate everyone’s efforts in helping to raise funds for the kids.

Remember – we do it for them – to help make their experience with EMSMU a better one!

Band Buddy Night Sept 30

Band Buddy Night – Sept. 30, 2011– the Middle School Marching Unit will perform their field show during pre-game at the HS Football at 6:35 pm The 7/8 band members are invited to spend the rest of the evening with the Ephrata High School Marching Unit. The students will be treated to a performance of the 2010 field show as well as play in the stands with the High School students during the football game

Items Needed:

·Wear band T- shirts with jeans- (you may want to bring your band jacket if the weather is cold )

·Need your instrument, music and a lyre- you need the Star Spangled Banner,  Rocky Top, Hey Song, Get Ready for This, El Conquistador, California Gurls , The Power of Love

·Money if you want to buy food during 3rd quarter

 

Time:

Meet at the High School Auditorium entrance at 5:30 PM on Sept 30. (Wear band T-shirts with jeans- dress with warm clothes underneath if necessary) You will meet your band buddy from the HS at this time.

 

 Parents, expect to pick up your students at the following times:

·         The football game usually ends.around 9:30 - 10:00pm. (At the end of the game and after the HS band performance)

Expectations:

·         Students are expected to stay in the stands with the HS band and Chaperones during the game. Students will be allowed to have time to get refreshments during the 3rd quarter when the HS band is dismissed for the same purpose. Students are expected to ask permission to leave the stands if they need to use the bathroom and return immediately

·         Students are expected to follow all school rules and rules set forth by Mr. Goss and Mrs. Straley. No playing when not directed to play.

·         We would like ALL students to stay until the end of the game and stay for the HS band performance at the conclusion of the game. If, however, a student needs to leave early, we must have a note from the parent.
