Annual Meeting Agenda

1. Administrative
A. Moment of Silence – “Remembering John Kim”
Jim Young touched on the many contributions of time, money and
expertise of long time member John Kim. Motion by Diane Kon
seconded and passed to have a $100 donation from EOH to help
defray some of John's medical expenses.
B. Introduction of visitors and prospective members: Raymond Higashi,
Henry Wu, Karen Ahn, Leslie Thomson
C. Treasurer's Report, Membership count (May Uyehara): Five new members
bringing current club membership to ninety one.
D. E-mail status (Rita Kaku): Agendas being sent and received by email.
E. Administrative - Annual Dues: Deadline - 31 July 2009
Annual Dues $12, (providing that the individual's membership is renewed
annually by 31 July)

2. Old Business
A. Website for Club photos, update (Ross Hamamura):
Member photos can be posted on club site by getting Ross your photos on
CD. He will take care of sizing them for the galleries.
B. Recent Photo Opportunities
1. Special Olympics (Stanley Chun): Thank you and appreciation from
Special Olympics to volunteers (10) who shot ceremonies and events at UH
Ching Cooke and Kahanamoku Complexes.
2. Memorial Day Lantern floats: Slide show of the ceremonies and activities
by Ross Hamamura

D. EOH community service project(s)
1. Special Olympics (Diane Kon) Next call for volunteer photographers will
be this coming December, TBA.
2. EOH participation in the KCC Culinary Competition Fundraiser
a. Club and generous member donations given as a way to reciprocate
for the use of KCC facilities. KCC facilities are an ideal venue
with EOH membership approaching 100.
b. Several club members attended then critiqued the "practice" or
test run for the culinary team multi course meal.

E. EOH Discussion Group update (Luther Chong): No activity on the discussion
group. Decision to be made later on whether to continue the Group since it
does take Luther’s time as moderator.
F. Club Picnic (Connie Leong)
1. Update, results of e-mail survey: currently 31 members signed up for
picnic. Food will be potluck held at Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden on
August 29.
Food - Potluck, announced at the EOH Annual Meeting 22 June.
Soft beverages and paper goods will be provided by the club.
A nominal participant fee will be charged.
G. Exhibit: Hawaii State Library (HSL) - (Exhibit Committee) Thank you to
Luther and Diane for spearheading another successful exhibit. The library
is already looking forward to next year; there should be more exhibit space
available. All the catalogs for the exhibit were used. 6 of the exhibited
photos are on the EOH gallery: HSL Exhibit 2009
H. Agenda for next FY Jul 2009 to Jun 2010: Programs beings finalized and to
incorporate more opportunities for mentoring, critiqueing of work and
practicing techniques.

4. Election of FY 2010 Officers -
There were no nominations from the floor. Annette Hee motioned that current
officers serve a second term. Motion was seconded and voted on without objection.

C. Kaimuki Orchid Society : "Orchids for Everyone and a World of Miniatures"
will be held at Kalani High School gymnasium on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, July 17-19, 2009. Opens at 9 AM each day.
6. Member’s Presentations:
o May Uyehara - China: "Spirit of Guizhou" Outstanding composition, and
point of view of the China we don't normally see. May's presentation is
featured on the opening EOH smugmug site filmstrip: http://eoh.smugmug.com/
and in the galleries section as " The Spirit of Guizhou & a Bit of Beijing”
o Ross Hamamura - slide show on Lantern Ceremony. Also displayed on the
galleries section as Lantern Floating Hawaii 05-25-09
o Dan Kinoshita - Eastern Sierra: PowerPoint slide show of potential
photo tour locations east of Yosemite. It is an area thatís ideal for
landscape photographers and includes the ghost town of Bodie State
Historical Park, tufa formations of Mono Lake and the bristlecone pines
of the White Mountains.
