The Environmental Studies Program has a number of tools available for students to use for course and research work, including: - Four eTrex Vista CX handheld GPS units which can be used for collecting data for used in creating your own GIS analyses.
- Two Canon FS-10
video cameras which can be used in conjunction with the editing suites
in the Media Services Resource Lab (in Watzek) or on any FireWire-based
desktop editing environment.
- Two Olympus DS-2300
digital audio recorders which can be used to capture audio interviews.
(NOTE: ENVS will soon have software available which will allow students
to automatically transcribe audio into a Word document).
Each of these pieces can be borrowed from ENVS. Simply contact envs@lclark.edu with your request which must include the following pieces of information:
- Name
- Email
- Equipment Needed
- Proposed Check-out Date/Time
- Proposed Check-in Date/Time
- Short Description of Project
If
the equipment is available for the period you've requested, we will
reserve it in your name. It will then be your responsibility to arrange
pick-up and drop-off of the equipment from the ENVS office. It's that
simple! NOTE:
As the equipment is being made available solely to the community of
ENVS students, there are no deposits or rental fees; by checking out
the equipment, you are explicitly guaranteeing that you will bring it
back to us a) in a timely manner and b) in the same condition.
Violation of this honor system will result in being blacklisted from
this service and, potentially, pursuit of arrears through the Cashier's
