Environmental Studies 330 allows students to situate and analyze environmental problems and solutions in time and space, and in both human and biophysical environments. This upper division course helps students master key concepts and technologies, and provides a space for academic dialogue on complex environmental issues. There is a strong emphasis on class participation and peer to peer learning. This semester, I have seen significant improvement in my ability to use GIS software and statistics, and in my individual initiative in a group setting has increased. I also feel that I am ready to continue the next two years of this major, completely focused on my concentration, independent study, and thesis. My experience with "Living Mosaic", the environmental studies' annual publication, has also helped with my leadership skills and my interest in food, human health, and ecosystem health.
