ICO Outings “I Have a Dream” to Sheldon Lake State Park
Plant Trees with the Houston Rockets!
March 9th from 1-4 pm. The Houston Rockets want to plant 20 trees in collaboration with our club. Two players will participate in the event, Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes. This activity will be shown on the video screen during a Go Green Rockets game on March the 24 or 25 to help promote Keep Houston Beautiful. Meet before 1 pm at Emancipation Park 3018 Dowling St.

Sierra’s Coal Campaign
March 12th from 6-7:30 pm Caribbean 75. Emily Stone from the Sierra Coal is working on our campus to promote a nationwide campaign to end a proposed plan to build over 100 coal plants throughout the US. She will also be tabling this month.
Spring Break Clinton Conference in NOLA –Will meet with the group attending after meeting.
Arboretum Kid’s Camp Volunteers Needed

helping with the arboretum’s 5-12 yr. olds camp during spring break or helping

Environmental Film of the Month at UH
Tuesday 25th @ 7 pm World Affairs Lounge. In collaboration with CLEAN, we will be screening a segment of CNN‘s Planet in Peril series. CNN went around the world to cover the effects of our changing climate; CLEAN worked with them to spotlight Houston. Since we all live in Houston, you won’t want to miss this.
“Dunk the Recyclables”
Wednesday 26th from 11-2pm @ Lynn Eusian Park. The highlight of our recycling campaign. We will be having people dunk recyclables into bins, talking to them about why recycling is important, and giving away lots of prizes! We need all of you to volunteer to help on this. One hour shifts, if you can cover more even better.
April Events
April 5th from 8-11am - Keep Houston Beautiful Day. We will be joining a citywide campaign to help ‘beautify’ Eastwood Park. Free food, shirts, music, and fun afterwards.
Earth Day Campaign
A weeklong series of events from the 19th - 26th of April in celebration of Earth Day. Please sign-up for the Earth Day committee, if you’re interested in helping to plan events. Here’s a slight glimpse:
April 19th - Mother’s for Clean Air 5k- Please sign up either to volunteer or participate in the race ASAP.
April 22nd- Our club in association with CLEAN will be showcasing Leonardo DiCaprio’s film “The 11th hour” We are extremely lucky to be one of the few people showing this “brilliant and terrifying” movie.
