Mission Statement

The mission of the ESDS English Department is to help individuals achieve their goals and become active citizens through the study of the English language and of literature written in English, and through the development of the attributes associated with a liberal arts education: skill with language, sound thinking, critical judgment, effective and persuasive writing, moral discrimination, creative imagination, independent thought, and wisdom.
