English Daisies
look beautiful in small pots or containers especially when combined with spring bulbs.  A beautiful spring container with English Daisies make the perfect Easter centerpiece on any patio. With their bright white with pink tips or vibrant pink petals with brilliant yellow centers they are great accent piece that will liven up any spring container.

English Daisy also makes for a great companion flower in window boxes. Mix with trailing ivy flowing down off the box and purple tulips the English Daisy rising up towards the spring sun adds curb appeal to any home.
 
Easy to grow with many new verities to choose from English Daisies are perfect for the new gardener!


Plant from seed:


*Sew the seeds indoors in early spring (6-8 weeks before average time of last frost) or sew later when all danger of frost is gone for early blooming the following year*

  1. Fill container until 2 inches from the top with good rich soil.
  2. Water the soil.
  3. Place seeds 1/8th inch apart.
  4. Cover seeds with soil leaving 1 inch from the top.
  5. Water until wet.
  6. Water regularly until germination about 2 weeks.
  7. Place in full sun or part shade.
  8. When flowers are about 1-2 inches tall you may thin them out to 6-8 inches apart.
  9. Transplant when plants are large enough to handle

Plant from garden center container:

  1. Choose plants that have new buds that are strong and healthy.
  2. Fill container with good rich soil leaving room for the root ball of plant.
  3. Place plants 4-6 inches apart inside container.
  4. Fill gaps with soil.
  5. Water well until moist.
  6. Place in full sun or partial shade
  7. Continue watering regular until roots are established which is about a week.
You can apply application of fertilizer on top of the soil in early spring. Be sure to follow package instructions.

Recommended flowers to plant with are Primrose, Violets, Daylilies and you can combine them with herbs such as sage.
