  • Browse newspapers and magazines that cover current events
  • Look for coverage of the current event you are dealing with in your project
  • Use a google search to find videos and websites that might address your current event
  • Exactly what you need and where to look will partly depend on your topic
  • Ask yourself, "in what section of a newspaper or magazine might my current event receive coverage?"

Consider related issues that might shed light on your current event
  • Open your mind to the bigger categories into which your current event fits
  • Think about how different current events and issues are interconnected
  • Browse newspapers and magazines again to see if you find some other windows to look into
  • Talk to your peers and friends about your topic to see if they can open your mind further
