For those interested I live in the heart of England. We call it the Black Country and includes towns like Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhamton and is just North of Birmingham.
In Birmingham and the Black Country we have more canals than Venice. It's quite trendy now to have a canalside apartment. But they were built to power the Industrial revolution before the age of the steam train.
This is a local pub that used to be used by that famous highwayman Dick Turpin - who robbed coaches the main form of transport in the 16th century for passengers and mail.
For some strange reason, people seem to want ot know about me! The about me page is more popular on my TalkTalk site than the Britney Spears page. I'm single, live alone in a 3 bedroomed house, 188cm tall or 6ft 2" if you are not metricated! I weigh 64Kg at the last weigh in that is 141 lbs or 10 stone. The heaviest I've been for years. I must be doing something right. I was 50 Kg a few years ago! You can email me if you go to my other site and click the email button at the bottom of the page. I've stopped the spam bots getting my email address on that site. I haven't figured out how to do that on this site just yet! The pub pictured above is 18th century and still standing and still used. The people who run the pub live close by and recently they altered the foot path so they could park off road - sensible thing to do in a narrow road. The council said it should be done again at a cost of a few hundred pounds - it didn't meet their silly regulations. I bet their bloody regulations don't last 300 years like the pub! I bet their fancy civic centre gets demolished in less than 50 years let alone 300 years! My grandfather used that pub. Him and his mates had a great idea - that came up with a scheme where people won a prize if they could predict the outcome of soccer matches. Someone stole the idea and the football pools were born! Then the National Lottery - a giant pub raffle came along and ruined the football pools! lol
The picture above is the Black Country museum. Not a stuffy place full of crap - but a living museum. They take our old building apart brick by brick and rebuild them in the museum. They have a working pub and fish and chip shop too!
What else can I say about me? I like Formula One motor racing. I tend to gamble a little on horses - not just backing them but laying them too on Betfair. I have been known to back at horse at 10-1 and then lay it at 2-1 during the race. If it comes up second - someone takes my lay and I win whether the horse wins or loses. Of course I normally win more if the horse happens to win!
I'm interested in psychology, the belief systems that people have. People who believe the truth are often totally crazy. The ones who sit behind desks all day chatting on the phone and sending their friends jokes by email are convinced they are not only sane but worth the £30,000 a year they get paid - now they are crazy.
I hate the local planners who plan the road system. They have put humps and ramps down all but A and B roads so forcing all cars on to A and B roads causing widespread congestion. Now they want to start a expensive congestion charge with electronic number plates and all that garbage.
I'm interested in Human Rights and welcomed the Human Rights Act in the UK. It isn't being policed of course and so a waste of time - much like the politicians who enacted it. I want more rights for the disabled, children, the elderly and women. I also want more Human rights for anyone who is unfairly discriminated against.
