Enforcers Youth vs Southend Sabres

posted 6 Dec 2010 01:07 by Wayne Plummer

The newly formed Enforcer youth team played their 2nd frindly game against established side Southend Sabres in November. After experincing a their competive game against Kingston Street Flyers the week earlier, the Enforcers did not come out of 1st gear. However, the Enforcers were ready for battle and put in a spirted and encouraging performances by putting away 7 very good goals. Solomon bagging four goals to bring his tally to 5 and Emilio bracing his first ever hat-trick. The team hustled and did well to not allow the Sabres to get any real control of the game. Ra'Shann and Emilio kept the pressure by skating hard and back checking to help out the defence. Solomon creating excellant scoring opportunites by combining his tricks and skils to beat the opponent one on one.  Kelly, Britney and Chardayne were strong in defence checking and forcing the Sabres to make mistakes under pressure. TJ once again was outstanding between the net for what was his 2nd ever game as netminder (a natural talen in goal). TJ faced a barrage of shots but did not much as fliched and he made some excellant saves and blocks. Just when the Enforcers were begining to find the groove the final whitle blew and the final score 14-7 to Sabres. The team can be proud of thier performance having only been training toegther for 6 months and with 2 more months of training before the new league season the team can only get better. The game though did highlight some areas that need to be focused on in training such as postioning, passing and more hard skating and will be the theme of training to come. Well done Enforcers Youth and many thanks goes out to Southend Sabres for making the friendly game possible.

Nationals

The Youth Nationals will be held on Saturday 23rd October 2010 at the Lord Robert Centre, Bisley.

The Senior Play Offs will be held on Sunday 24th October at the Lord Robert Centre, Bisley.

The Peewee and Junior Nationals will be held over the whole weekend, with the age groups mixed into both days, on 20/21st November at Bisley.

Champions League 2011:

BISHA are planning to introduce a Champions League. With the help of the Regions, the plan would be to have each regions Champion, and possibly the 2009 National Champion if not already included, play in a League to be played around the regions. Obviously, we would need the co-operation of each region for this to be possible, and careful liaison with fixtures would be necessary. (Senior Only initially).

Veterans League 2011:

If possible, we would like to run a similar League within the regions for Vets, with a slight deviation from the IISHF rulebook ages of players 30 years of age and older.

GB Womens:

Once again, we'd like to try and set up a GB team for women, if there are enough female players interested.

Please would you pass this email to your clubs, and ask them to contact me if they are interested in any of the above. If we have sufficient support from teams for the Champions and the Vets League, it will need to be planned early in the 2011 season in order to fit in with each regions fixtures, and teams would need to be willing to travel to each region within the country.

Regards
