Hi,

My name is Paul Doherty and on 9 August 2010, I will be starting an unassisted cycle ride from Lands End, Cornwall, England to John O'Groats in the Scottish Highlands. My aim is to to raise £5000 in sponsorship for St.Margarets Somerset Hospice by doing the ride.

I have set up this website to introduce myself, publicise what I'm doing and to provide a point of access for anybody who would like to sponsor my endeavours. By going to the links on the left, you'll be able to find out all about me, the ride I will be doing, the work of art that is the bicycle I will be making the ride on, and most importantly, the charity that I intend to raise money for (St.Margarets Somerset Hospice), and my link with them.

Lands End and John O'Groats are the two points are considered to be the southernmost and northernmost points of the UK mainland - although neither actually are! Those honours are actually held by Lizard Point, Cornwall, England at

58°40′N 3°22′W / 58.667°N 3.367°W / 58.667; -3.367, (also known as Easter Head, Caithness, Highland, Scotland ).

While reading through the site, if at any time you want to post comments then please do so in the section at the bottom some of the pages (but not this one).

When on the ride, I will be blogging updates to my site here, so if you're really on the edge of your seat about my progress, keep an eye on this site - it is possible to subscribe to learn about new updates as they happen.
