About Us: Encore Horse Trials is run by Kathy Arrandale and her family, in conjunction with Eric Retford, who is the ongoing Cross Country Course designer. In 2008 Encore Horse Trials hosted its 10th anniversary USEA event, however its history shows it running as a USEA event back in the 80s for 9yrs, hosted by also by Eric and Kathy. The in between years run by local CTA, until picked up by Kathy and Eric,as USEA again in 1998. Kathy is an USEF Official T.D. and Eric a USEF Course designer, both families eventing enthusiasts and riders for many years. Encore Horse Trials is the only USEA event run over the Honey Run Equestrian easement property, consisting of over 300 acres, that is owned by T.E.A.M, The Eventing Association of Michigan. Our facility features 2 sand dressage arena’s, A Cross section of challenging and move-up cross country fences from BN to Preliminary and a grass Stadium course arena. This facility was built to promote the sport of eventing in Michigan and offers schooling to TEAM members. We are easily accessible from M-23 and I-94 just west of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
