Sew What & Charity Quilt Workshop
Come join us on Saturday, January 29th from 9-3 pm as we work on putting together charity quilts for the community. Our members make quilts for various charities throughout the community. Charities we support are:
First National Bank's CARE quilt program, hospitals, veteran support groups, COPE and any charity the maker wishes to support with their creations. Workshops are held the 5th Saturday of the month throughout the year. See Calendar of Events for exact dates.

Pam Holland and Alamogordo
Many of us had the opportunity on June 24th to meet a wonderful artist, adventurous, traveller and and just a lovely lady - Pam Holland. Pam came to Alamogordo to be part of a Charity Quilt Festival sponsored by First National Bank. She donated her time to local youth and charities. While here she taught three classes on her techniques and spent a great deal of time photographing Alamogordo and its people as well as the surrounding areas. If you haven't met this vibrant lady, you missed a great opportunity. Raffle Quilt Project
Thank you Dee Swain for leading us in making a future Guild quilt for raffle in 2011. The members have voted and the new quilt will be FABULOUS! Come join us in these classes as we learn paper piecing and make the blocks that will be going into this quilt. The fabrics are bright, updated and are going to be wonderful. Stay in touch as we post pictures and information on the progress.

Embellishments with Cindy
Come join us on Saturday, April 24th for an embellishments class with Cynthia Clark. Class will be held at the Christian Church, 1300 Hawaii, Alamogordo, from 9:a.m.-1p.m. Bring something you've embellished to share with the group. Refreshments will be served. Quilt Show
Three of our guild members recently entered quilts in the Las Colcheras Quilt Show in Las Cruces. Two of them won awards. Andrea Fellensiek won a first place ribbon for her beautiful green and orange quilt. Kittie Shimming won a 2nd place ribbon for her President's Blocks quilt. Alyce Ferguson also had two or three quilts in the show.
Congratulations ladies - we are very proud of you!
