Photography- Photography by ShannonThis has to be the first vendor I list. I'm so excited about having Shannon as our photographer! We started out with the idea of just having 4 hours of photos with Blue Glass, who the Marriott uses exclusively. However, the more I saw other DW brides, and the more I thought about our wedding priorities (food, drink, and pictures..though the order changes!), I really wanted someone I could meet with and discuss ideas with beforehand. I also like having a "local" photographer. We do our E-pics this weekend- so more to come!Travel Agent- Melissa with Beach Bum VacationsShannon may be the first listed, but close behind is Melissa! Melissa has been FANTASTIC to work with. She responds extremely promptly to my emails- even on weekends. Also, we've found that by going through her, if changes were needed (like departure locations, guest name change, etc.), our guests have A LOT more flexibility through her than if our guests had bought plane tickets on their own. Additionally, given all the cancelled flights, itinerary changes, etc., it was great feeling like we has someone looking out for us. Please note that I travel every week for work- so travel is not new to me and I still am so happy we have Melissa.Ceremony Location- Marriott Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star ResortMy contact at the Marriot is April. The poor girl seems worked to death, but she's very nice on the phone and responsive to emails. I've requested a few oddball things (we have our own minister, I had a special song request for my processional, etc.) and she has been ver accomodating with everything. Initially, I had thought that the location fee (roughly $1k) was a total rip-off. I now understand that it pays for April (or it should!).

Reception Location- Havana BlueElizabeth is my current contact, after my first contact seemed to leave unexpectedly. Despite the shift, Elizabeth has been very friendly. I also love that she has recently gotten married and just moved from Atlanta (where we currently live). I know it probably doesn't matter, but I like feeling as if we have some connection! |
