LocationThe Reception will be held at Havana Blue, an independent restaurant on the Marriott property.I love the simplicity of the restaurant- with the white sheers, loads of candlelight, and blue glasses (which will serve as an accent color!). So I don't think I'll do much decorating. Floral/DecorI'm incorporating flowers into our Escort Card. This is my inspiration: The restaurant will get flowers from their florist and I'll print out the Escort cards. I bought votive holders at Michael's ($0.99 each, plus 40% off coupon). Menus/Table NumbersI will create a menu using the design and colors from our wedding invitation. (check back later!)FavorsFI and I have adopted three dogs (well, I've adopted 2, and then we adopted the third after we couldn't give him up from fostering him!). I am very passionate about animal rescue and thus have decided to give donations to the three groups from whom we've adopted our "kids" in lieu of donations. Here are the cards I made for that (printed with Vistaprint!)   CakeWe'll be using VI Desserts for our cakes. For the traditional wedding cake, we'll have White Chocolate buttercreme frosting, vanilla cake, and lemon curd filling. YUM! I'll also do a layer of coconut on the top. Two of my favorites! Here are the styles I love.  And, like any good Southern Girl, I'll have a Groom's Cake as well. This will be a total surprise for FI. Since we're both "closet" NASCAR Fans, the theme for his cake will be the number 20 car. Sadly, this will be the last year Tony drives for The Home Depot (yes, I am a dork). The cake will be VI Dessert's Gingerbread, since it's made with Guinness, another of FI's faves, and covered in bright orange frosting. I love it. I'll probably top the cake with a diecast car (if it's not too heavy) but wouldn't this be great too?? |
