Welcome to my website. Here you can find information about my life as a postdoctoral researcher and about the things I do when I am not doing science. My project is on the environmental significance of earthworm secreted calcite granules at the University of Reading. I will try to figure out if, and how we can apply the stable isotope chemistry of these carbonates as a proxy for past environmental variability. More about this in the Science section. For my PhD (VU University Amsterdam) and first postdoc (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CALMARs project) I did similar work on freshwater and marine shells. More information on these projects can be found in the Science section. | My Master's degree at Utrecht University focused on marine ecology and animal behaviour. More about my undergraduate studies you can find in the Education section. In my spare time I like to sing in a choir, go to the gym, read a good book or do amateur astronomy. When on holiday, I love to go SCUBA diving. More about my personal life and hobbies you can read in the Life section. |
