IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT The CLHG was able to send most of the money raised to Emitos. Below you can get some idea what your donations have achieved so far. Greetings from EMITOS "Thank you very much for donating to our club. Your support has made Emitos a wonderful club. You have enabled us to get the equipment we need for training; like balls, training kits, boots, beautiful uniforms and track suits. When training, every one now has a ball or an activity to perform. When we go for competitions we will be smartly dressed and this will give us more confidence and we will definitely perform better. Our club is steadily growing. We have new recruits though we lost some members who changed to other schools." NAMULI HAJARAH CAPTAIN AND GOAL KEEPER In the photo on the right you can see Annette Nalunga, chairperson of WOFEWO, handing over a new teamshirt bearing a CLHG logo to EMITOS girl Abdi Remmy . Annette tells us that the money enables Emitos "...to meet its costs on football equipment and running different workshops on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. It has motivated the girls to play with heart, desire and skill. Different headteachers where Emitos operate, have been overwhelmed by the triumph and vowed to encourage girls to participate in Emitos activities. One of the head teachers advised us to sign a memorandum of understanding with parents, such that we can get girls whenever we want." On the left is a headteacher addressing Emitos.girls. Team coach Faridah Bulega is standing to the right of the headteacher and in red and yellow, sitting 2nd from the left, is assistant coach Hamidah Nankabirwa. Annette continued: " In June this year, we are organizing a workshop for parents, aimed at convincing them more about the objectives of the club and the importance of girls foot ball, some girls will be there to testify how Emitos has changed their lives. We hope to get some role models also to put emphasis on this. The donation has come at the right time when the club is preparing for the Wakiso women football tournament for girls U-20. It involves clubs found in Wakiso district, where we belong. It was introduced this year and kicks off in May. Being secular in nature, and with its exciting activities, the club has been able to attract more members even those who have dropped out from school, but still in the same age category." We were able to get new uniforms, boots, tracksuits and training kits. Our training sessions are much more interesting and this has encouraged us to train harder, besides, I have learnt to appreciate the needs of others; love, share and sacrifice. I was inspired by the way the Central London Humanists chose to sacrifice what they had to support Emitos." NAKAYIWA SARAH WELFARE MINISTER EMITOS FC. |
