           Scientific name:  Quercus palustris

           Maximum Height:  50-75 ft.

           Native Range: Eastern and central US

           Pointed leaves, 3-5 in. long, 2-6 in.  wide

           Deciduous

           Acorns do not appear for 12-15 years

           Acorns provide food for many animals

           Rarely used in furniture because of warping and cracking when dried.

           Grows best in moist, acidic soil, at low altitudes, and in full sunlight.

           Does not tolerate limestone or basic soils.

           Maximum height: 50-75 ft.
