A FIGHT TO THE TOP: EMERSON’S NEXT TOP MALE MODEL

Emerson’s Own Fashion Society Introduces First Male Model Competition

BOSTON, MA, NOVEMBER 2, 2008 – The Emerson College Fashion Society is hosting the first annual “Emerson’s Next Top Male Model” competition on Wednesday, November 12 at 8 p.m.

The event will be held in Emerson’s Cabaret, located on the lower level of 80 Boylston Street, also known as the Little Building.

“Emerson’s Next Top Male Model” mocks the hit CW series America’s Next Top Model, hosted by Tyra Banks. Emerson’s event will feature fourteen chosen males from the student body who will compete in a variety of photo shoots and challenges to win the title of Emerson’s top male model.

The contestants will take part in five preliminary photo shoot challenges this Sunday, November 2 based on select themes, one of which will be commercial for a provocative item.

Judging of all challenges will be held at the event on November 12 where the winner and other surprise prizes will be announced.

The concept for the competition branched out from a similar and very popular event held by the Fashion Society last spring, where females competed for the title of Emerson’s top female model, and a fashion spread in the school’s student run lifestyle publication, “em Magazine”.
