ERM workshop a success
Michael McShane, Rani Kady, and others have successfully conducted a workshop on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) at Old Dominion University with more than forty participants. The event was capped by a tour of the facilities at the Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) and demonstrations of their state-of-the-art projects.

ERI grant proposal funded
ERI researchers Ariel Pinto and Rani Kady obtained funding to organize and hold a symposium and workshop on how Simulation and Modeling can be applied to managing Emergent Risk. More details will follow soon. [posted 01 March 2010]

New Journal Publication
Ipek Bozkurt (pictured) and Ariel Pinto, researchers from ODU's Engineering Management and Systems Engineering (EMSE) were recently featured for publishing an article at the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management that takes a unique vernacular to the problem of flu pandemic.
