Please show your support for all teachers’ jobs. The next school board meeting will be held Tuesday, May 11th.
There will be discussions and decisions made regarding the school district budget for programs and teachers for next year.

3-22-10 There is lots of good news to share from the Art World! First, one of our very own 8th grade Art students applied and was accepted into the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts! She is a very talented young artist. Congratulations on your accomplishment, …Miss Emily Fasic!!! Good luck to you at LACHSA.
Second, one of our previous ESMS students (who took Art Class for 3 years here & is now in college at Berkeley) applied and was accepted into the OTIS College of Art & Design. She too is an awesome artist! Congratulations go to …Miss Mattea Perrota!!! Good luck to her at OTIS.
Third, there have been several different Art contests happening recently. I have some of the results to share with you.
The Results of the El Segundo Women’s Club Art Contest: Grades 4-6 category: 1st place = Layla Chamberlin. Grades 7-8 category: 1st place = Amanda Araque. Grades 7-8 category: 2nd place = Katrina Kirchhof. Grades 7-8 category: 3rd place = Joe Walsh. Grades 7-8 category: Honorable Mention = Daisy Leon.
The Results of the PTA “Reflections” Art Contest in the Visual Arts category: 1st place - Michelle Askar (also 1st place @ District level) 2nd place - Emily Fasic - 8th Grade. 3rd place - Jessica Lee - 7th Grade. 4th place - Aleena Amin - 6th Grade.
Congratulations to all of these fabulous young artists!!! As soon as I receive the results from any of the numerous other contests I will pass the info on to you. Great News! The winner of the “Water is Life” art contest has just been announced... Our very own Michelle Askar won first place! There were more than 650 entries and Michelle won first place!
