- 1/2006-Current - Kendle International, Inc, Cincinnati,OH
Project Assistant – My duties as a project assistant include standard administrative duties however I have also helped build a Project Assistant New Hire Training Binder, was invited to attend and work at both a Kick-Off meeting and a PI Meeting for my study, and have been integrally involved in site selection and activation for my current study. Additionally, I have assisted in financial and budget duties on our study. I am fully trained in MS Office (Word®, Excel®, Powerpoint®)
- 10/2005-1/2006 – Dell / Spherion, Florence Mall, KY
Spherion Lead / Dell Sales Representative – I was originally hired on to Dell as a Kiosk Lead but because of the hiring strategy that Dell utilizes I needed to work 3 mos. as a Sales Rep first. For the three months there, I led my kiosk in sales. Over the ’06 holiday sales season, my sales dollars exceeded all other employees at our kiosk and, during several weeks, my weekly sales exceeded the combined total of all other employees. In December, I was officially offered my own Kiosk but declined.
- 3/2002-9/2006– Barnes & Noble, Florence, KY
Café Manager / Lead Bookseller / Part Time Bookseller – Though starting as a part time bookseller in 3/02 and becoming a lead bookseller of the Bargain section 3 mos later in 6/02, my highlight at Barnes & Noble was managing the Café from 9/04 through 9/05. In this position, I was responsible for strategic in-store marketing, scheduling and personnel, ordering, metrics analysis, and personal accountability for the Café in general. I inherited the position in a rescue situation and was successfully able to drive sales for our location to rival stores in downtown D.C. and New York.

Learning Assistant – My responsibilities included establishing productive rapport with students seeking assistance, analyzing specific and diverse assignments, and assisting students (many ESL) to complete preparatory work beneficial to learning and fulfilling assigned work. I worked in depth with students to critique their writing and assess how best to assist in their development.
Freelance Experience
In a freelance capacity, I have worked with Symphony Communications, Trivantis Corporation, and The Community Recorder, as well as the Grant County News as a writer.

1999-2008 -- I have been an active member of the Honors community at NKU, designing a syllabus and Teacher Assisting for an Honors course (History of Science Fiction.) I was named Runner-Up in the Heinlein Writers of the Future Contest (2001) and also read at a school sponsored public reading of some of my work.

1998-1999 – Though I don’t hold a degree or certificate in this field, I attended for two full semesters before opting to attend the NKU writing program, and do have a fully working understanding of graphics programs (Flash®, Illustrator®) and internet web building programs (Dreamweaver® and FrontPage®)

Personal Goals
· I am committed to pursuing my MA in Professional Writing starting in Fall 2008 at NKU.
· I am family oriented and value my time with my wife and children.
· I intend to continue writing (both creatively and working on occasional freelance work.)
· I am interested in applying myself to the unique social issues needing addressed in the Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati, Ohio area, particularly as it pertains to local literacy and education.
