Meridian Therapy is a style of acupuncture that relies upon a high degree of sensitivity to the flow of qi (life-force energy) within and around the client's body. Meridian Therapy practitioners use pulse diagnosis to identify the root cause of disease, and then very gentle needle technique to correct the underlying imbalances in qi-flow, restoring the body's natural capacity to heal. History Of Meridian Therapy Chinese Medicine traces its roots to Huangdi, the "Yellow Emperor," who ruled China from 2497--2398 BCE. Some believe the Yellow Emperor to be an emanation of the ascended master Lanto. Acupuncture arrived in Japan during the 5th century CE and initially was practiced largely by Buddhist monks. There have been, and continue to be, many blind practitioners who are often gifted with a special adeptness at perceiving qi. The seed for Meridian Therapy was planted in the 1920's, with the work of Yanagiya Seisuke. This form of practice came into full flower during the 1940's through the efforts of Okabe Fukuji and Inoue Keiri, two of Yanagiya's students.
