Spring 2008 Work Sample

This page contains a sample of my work from Spring 2008, my first semester in the English Education program at Stony Brook University.

  • The first two lesson plans were collaborative with other students from my first Methods of Education class.
  • My Teacher to Teacher essay was written for my first Methods class as a response to the prompt:  What Is the Best Young Adult Novel You’ve Ever Read? English Journal, Volume 90, Number 3, January 2000

  • My Rhetorical Analysis was written for my Theories and Practices of Mentoring Writers class.  I analyzed speeches by Hillary Clinton and John McCain to see how they use language in order to sway voters.

  • My Beatles Lesson Plan was written entirely by me and used as a final project for my literacy development class.  I use Beatles music to introduce poetry to an 8th grade class.
