Booking Conditions
These conditions must be adhered to:
The Holiday Contract: The hiring contract shall be between you and the owner of the lodge. We arrange bookings of holiday accommodation only on behalf of the owner of Dickens Lodge & Lodge 1 Applethwaite, so you enter into a contract with the owner of the property when we accept your booking form and deposit payment by issuing written confirmation of your booking. The contract binds you and all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms and conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract and loss of the booking.
How to Book: please telephone us on 01253 720908 or 07774 412350 or email us to confirm your chosen property is available on the dates you require. We can then hold this provisionally for 7 days giving you time to complete the booking form and send in your cheque/payment.
Deposits- A non-refundable deposit of £100 is payable at the time of booking in order to reserve the property. Bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date must be accompanied by the full amount of the holiday charge.
Balance - The Balance must be paid so as to arrive no later than 8 weeks before the commencement of your holiday. If the balance is not received by the due date then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation. Payments can be made by a card payment (please note a 2% fee will be added to all credit cards, no fee for a debit card, cheque or postal order, made payable to (details will be on the booking form) and sent to the address specified on the booking form. (Dickens Lodge & Lodge 1 Applethwaite payment by cheque only) For security reasons please do not send cash by post.
Accommodation - Only those people listed on the booking form can occupy the lodge and use the facilities of Limefitt Park. If this legal requirement is not met, your booking will be terminated and you will be asekd to leave, with no refund made.
Whilst every effort has been made to describe as fully as possible the property in question, we cannot accept responsibility for any changes an owner may have made that we were not aware of. We cannot be held repsonsible for any disappointment caused where a customer has differing expectations to those detailed in the description.
Cancellation - If you cancel your holiday more than 8 weeks before it is due to start then your deposit will be forfeit. If you cancel less than 8 weeks prior to the holiday then the full balance remains due and is not refundable. We strongly recommend that you take out suitable holiday insurance. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
Arrival & Departure Times - On your day of arrival your accommodation is available from 2.00 p.m.(please check your booking confirmation as some lodges may differ). Should you wish to arrive earlier you can take advantage of the Park facilities until your accommodation is ready for you. In order for us to prepare for our next guests we do ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10.00 a.m. on your day of departure
Damage to Property: In making a booking you accept responsibility for any damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. Please treat the facilities and accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage in your accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. All accommodation must be left in a clean and tidy state and all furniture returned to the place in which it was found on entry. Premises are inspected at the end of the holiday and you may be charged for any loss or damage found.
Personal property left by tenants can be forwarded upon a receipt of a minimum handling fee of £5. Unclaimed articles will be disposed of after 28 days.
Smoking – Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the lodges.
Barbecues – For safety reasons, no barbecues of any type may be used on the lodge decking. Please use the garden to the side of the lodge instead.
Single Sex Groups - We are sorry that we cannot accept group bookings of (3 or more) from single sex groups. We reserve the right to apply discretion in certain circumstances.
Disabled Guests - We are sorry but all of our lodges have steps to the decking and are not easily accessible by guests who need to use wheelchairs. We are happy to provide as much advice & information as possible about the Lodges. Please contact us for more information. For more information please contact us.
Cots & highchairs – A travel cot & highchair are available at an extra charge. Please enquire at time of booking. If a cot is booked please remember to bring your own cot linen.
Children - Please note that children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times.
Dogs & other pets – Well trained pets are accepted in selected lodges only – Troutbeck Lodge, Tarn Hows Lodge & Dickens Lodge with a maximum of two dogs per booking. In no circumstances may they lie on the bedding or the chairs. Dogs must not be left unattended in holiday homes or elsewhere at any time. We reserve the right to decline certain breeds of dog. There is a dog field where dogs can be let off the lead otherwise dogs must always wear a collar and identity tag and be kept on a lead under the control of a responsible adult at all times. We reserve the right to require the owner of any dog or other pet to remove it from the lodge if we consider it a nuisance or to be interfering with the general comfort of guests. At the end of the holiday any evidence of the pet must be cleared from the lodge and gardens.
Assistance dogs for disabled guests are exempt from this ruling but you should let us know in advance if you are intending to bring one.
'No pets' in the description may not guarantee that pets have never occupied the property.
'Dogs which are specified in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted on the park (Park Rules) at any time and include all breeds of Pit Bulls, Rottweiller, Japanese Tosa, Dogue Argentiono, Fila Brasileiro.
Right of Entry - We reserve the right to enter accommodation at any time under any circumstances or emergencies.
Unreasonable behaviour - For the convenience of our guests, we reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking or their guests may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of other guests at Limefitt Park.
Availability of facilities - In some circumstances accommodation, entertainment or a facility may be temporarily withdrawn due to maintenance, renovation, adverse weather conditions or any other factor outside our control. We reserve the right to make such alterations as are necessary in the above circumstances without prior notice, & are unable to pay compensation for any inconvenience caused. Certain facilities are subject to an additional cost. Please note availability of off-peak facilities like those at the leisure facilities at White Cross Bay, the on-site shop and the Hay Barn Inn may be reduced or restricted at certain times of year - please enquire at time of booking.
Data Protection Policy Statement: We will hold information provided by you to us in connections with your booking(s). It will be used in connection with your booking and for informing about the lodge.
Limitation of Liability: We accept responsibility for those arrangements of your holiday which are within our control, but we cannot accept liability for any injury, loss or damage, suffered by you or any other member of your party.
We are here to help - we work very hard to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday and we hope your chosen property meets with your approval. Obviously there are times when something can go wrong. We ask you to inform the owner as soon as possible during occupation on the contact numbers provided so we can try to resolve any problems as soon as possible. We regret that any complaints received on departure or at a later date cannot be effectively dealt with, as it should be appreciated that it is not possible to correct or investigate effectively any problem at that time.
If still dissatisfied then you must write to us within 28 days of your return, we do not have to look at complaints received after this limit. If you return home before telling anyone of your difficulties we cannot accept any liability.
Variation - We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.
