These are some of Troutbeck Lodge's & Tarn Hows Lodge most frequently asked questions - please contact us if you would like to know anything more.

How do I book Troutbeck or Tarn Hows Lodge and how do I pay?

If you Contact us either by email or telephone letting us know your chosen dates we will email you a booking form with payment instructions.  Please return the booking form with your payment.  A deposit of £100 will be required (payments by cheque), the full balance will be due 4 weeks prior to your stay. (If when booking it is less than 4 weeks to your stay - the full balance will be required).

Where are Troutbeck & Tarn Hows Lodge/Limefitt Park?

Both Lodges are on Limefitt Park. Limefitt Park is 3 miles from Windermere on the A592 Patterdale Road in the Troutbeck Valley.  

Do you own Troutbeck & Tarn Hows Lodge?

Yes - we are private owners of both Lodges.  The 'other to let lodges' advertised on this site are also owned by private owners. 

Do you accept pets?

Both Troutbeck Lodge and Tarn Hows are pet friendly.  Dickens Lodge also accepts well behaved pets.. However due to the Dangerous Dogs Act - any dogs specified in this act are not permitted on the park at any time and include:- American Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogue Argentino, Fila Brasileiro.

 

What time can we arrive?

Accommodation is available from 2pm. We ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10am on the day of your departure. You can use the site facilities on your arrival/departure day should you arrive earlier etc. 

What is included in the price?

All gas and electric, 2 tea towels, crockery and cutlery.  Bed linen and towels are provided. 

What do we need to bring?

You will need to bring washing up items, toiletries and your personal holiday belongings.  If you are arriving later a torch is a good idea! 

What facilities do Troutbeck and Tarn Hows lodge accommodation include?

  • Very large decking area
  • Open plan lounge/dining area/kitchen area
  • Bathroom with overhead shower and a 'half size' bath, WC and basin
  • Fridge/sml freezer compartment (ice box)
  • Microwave/Toaster/Kettle (Tarn Hows has a George Formby Sandwich grill)
  • Gas Hob with a Gas oven/grill 
  • Free Wi Fi Internet from your lodge (speeds may vary) 
  • Colour LCD HD ready TV - DVD player
  • Radio /CD player
  • Bed Linen Included (beds made up for arrival)
  • Towels (1 hand & 1 bath per person)
  • Free Gas and Electric
  • Travel Cot & High Chair are available to hire (£10 each) (please bring your own cot bedding )
  • Leather 3 seater settee
  • Leather armchair (Troutbeck has a reclining armchair) (Tarn Hows has 2 armchairs)

What facilities are at Limefitt Park?

  • Outdoor Childrens Play Area & a Sports field
  • Riverside Picnic Area
  • Shallow River pool for paddling
  • Fell Walks from your door (no need to park the car!!)
  • Lakeland Pub serving bar meals, hand pulled ales such as Black Sheep, Cumberland Ale & Coniston Bluebird - 50" Plasma television screen - Sky TV !
  • Family lounge
  • Beer Garden with stunning views
  • Games room - pool table - Giant 'jenga' game and arcade games
  • Refurbished launderette (payable locally)
  • Park shop/Reception - newspapers,magazines. Daily fresh baked bread as well as over 130 DVD's available to rent.
  • Internet Access - In the Haybarn Inn, Free Wireless connection or a locally payable PC access is available
  • Leisure facilities at nearby (3 miles) Whitecross Bay  (payable locally)

 Is there Parking by the lodge?

Yes there is space for 2 cars provided by the lodges and extra parking is available by Reception 

Can you recommend any activities to do?

Yes - there are some tourist information leaflets in the lodges.  Reception are very helpful again providing tourist information and to view even more please click here  

Are you near any good pubs?

Yes - we are a short 5 min pleasant stroll from the Queens Head and the Mortal Man, both serving fine ales and good food.(Queens Head is pet friendly)  

Do I have to pay a laundry fee or booking fee?

No - we do not charge a laundry, cleaning charge or booking fee, the total rental is the price you pay for the Lodge.  If you choose to purchase the Leisure facility passes this will be payable locally (from £2.50 a day) please click here for more details 

Are single sex groups allowed?

Limefitt Park is a family site and as a rule we do not accept bookings from (Stag parties/Hen nights)young single sex groups. However we reserve the right to vary this, if you wish to discuss this please contact us. 

Can I smoke in the lodges?

No - smoking is not permitted inside any of the lodges.   

Will my mobile phone work?

Reception is limited in Limefitt Park.  Vodafone seems to give the best all round reception.
