All Things Paper

I am DIYing all of my paper goods - invitations, place cards, menus, programs, etc.  I have been working on a few invitation designs, but haven't definitely decided on anything yet, so I will post them when I do!

"Will you be my Bridesmaid" Cards

Ok, so I already cheated on my DIY promise.  I ordered these online. But in my defense, I was out of town when I sent them, and didn't want to undertake any sort of project while I was away from home.  They turned out cute anyway, and I loved that the website lets you personalize the inside of the cards.

(Sorry the image is a bit blurry.)

Save the Dates

We ordered postcards and small magnets from Vistaprint for our STDs.  Big props to my brother Eric for helping me get the design up to proper printing resolution with his superior Photoshop expertise.

The quality of this photo was even worse, so I'll have to try to retake and post a photo of it later.

Invitations

I finally finished our invites!  The only thing I still need to do is the inserts, the RSVP cards/envelopes, and the invitation envelopes.  I'm pretty pleased with how they came out, but they were a LOT of work.  They are Espresso colored pocketfolds from cardsandpockets.com, and the actual invitation panel has letterpressed (yay!) fern patterns, but the rest of the printing I did myself.  The bellyband is chocolate brown satin ribbon, the monogram is a stamp from Papersource which I embossed (yes, each and every one...whew!)  They have velcro closures, which I prefer to the slide-off type of bellyband.

Map

I had Etsy seller 2birdstone design a map to be printed on the back of our Directions insert.  She did a great job and made a million tiny adjustments for me (from the precise shade of green to placement of road names) with no problem.  Best of all, she only charged $20 for the design and PDF file!  She used the colors and fonts of our invitations and e-mailed it to me so I could print them on my own.

Envelope Liners

This was a project I was kind of dreading, but actually turned out to be easier than I expected and so worth it.  I'm thrilled with the way they turned out.  Our envelopes were from Paper Source so I bought several different Paper Source printed wrapping papers in colors that coordinated with our "chartreuse" envelopes.  I definitely recommend buying Paper Sources plastic envelope liner templates.  They made the job so much easier.

They're mailed - finally!  The invitations were a HUGE project, took a ton of time, and were actually rather expensive, but it feels great to have them off in the mail.  It was a momentous occasion, so we felt the need to document it photographically.  We started getting RSVPs back within 2 days!

Menu Cards

Here are our menu cards.  These were pretty time consuming, especially sticking the teeny little crystals onto each and every one.  I'm so happy with how they came out, though.  I think they'll look fantastic tucked into our dark brown satin napkins.

"Thank You" Parasol

I'm so excited to use this in photos for our thank you cards!  I scored this from a former bride who lives in Chicago (BIG thank you to Karin for picking it up for me!), but it was in such hot demand that she decided to make and sell them in her Etsy shop:  http://foxandprince.etsy.com

Out of Town Boxes

I don't have the actual boxes yet, nor anything that will go into the boxes, but I do have the "Welcome" sign that will be attached to the front of the box (actually postcards printed by Vistaprint):

We're trying to keep everything Boston and Massachusetts-themed.  Here's what we've got to go in the boxes so far:

More that I have yet to purchase: Poland Springs water bottles, rolls of Necco wafers, boxes of Boston Baked Beans candy, small bags of salt water taffy, maybe mini bags of Dunkin Donuts coffee, and possibly bags of Fenway peanuts if we have enough room.

We will also put self-addressed stamped Boston postcards in the box, so the guests can mail us a note with their favorite memory from the weekend after the wedding.  There will also be one (non-addressed) postcard for guests to keep or mail to a friend.  Here is the little note that will accompany the postcards (business cards printed by Vistaprint):

Photo Share Cards

I'm really excited to re-live the night from a guest's perspective so I'm hoping people actually use these photo share cards and upload their photos!  I guess we'll put them at each place setting.  I liked how the cards for the out-of-town boxes turned out so much that I decided to use the same design for our photo share cards.  They are a bit more whimsical than the rest of the wedding style, but I think they will add a little color and fun to the table.  (I feel bad though because after I had these printed, Jon told me he doesn't like that photo of him...it's too late to change it now, but I think he looks adorable, for the record.)  These were also printed by Vistaprint.
