Okinawa

Okinawa is the southernmost prefecture in Japan. Okinawa Prefecture includes not only the main island of Okinawa but also the southern islands of the Ryukyu archipelago.

Okinawa Prefecture is actually quite big - the prefecture consists of approximately 160 islands (most of which are uninhabited) that span 1,000 kilometers from east to west and 400 kilometers from north to south.

Beach in Taketomi-jima, Okinawa, JapanWith its tropical beaches and abundance of nature, in addition to its rather laid-back lifestyle, Okinawa is by far my favorite area of Japan.
