Ceremony For the ceremony, we will have three church musicians from the Paulist Center play: Michael Kurley on piano, Richard Allegra as cantor, and Mike Reavey on trumpet. Our music selections are as follows: Processional: Trumpet Voluntary (with trumpet and piano) Gathering song: Great Is Thy Faithfulness Responsorial psalm: As the Deer Gospel acclamation: "God has spoken" ("God has spoken to his people, hallelujah! And his words are words of wisdom, hallelujah!" - repeated twice) Intercessions: we'll write the prayers, then use the sung "Trilingual intercession" for people's response: "God, hear our prayer. Deus, exaudinos. Senor, escuchanos." Preparation of the gifts: When Love Is Found Communion: Here I Am, Lord Recessional: Rondeau (with trumpet and piano) Reception Our reception music will be provided by the International String Trio. They are a somewhat unconventional string trio: guitar, bass, and violin, all Berkelee trained. They're international and play tons of international music as well as classical, jazz, swing, Sinatra, Sting, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder... amazingly eclectic. So we could have classical music during the cocktail hour, jazz and international during dinner, "wedding band" songs for dancing... all with one group! We will be adding in drums and vocals for the two hours after "dinner," just to make it all the more lively and danceable. We're very excited! |
