Noxious Play

This poem is a lot like another I have here. The theme and construction are similar. I think they complement, rather than obstruct, each other.

In dusk developed rain I stood, a wetted and asleep
a faintly glowing starkly naked mind
I watched the pixies gather food and caper through the deep
A chill did chance to wander 'cross my spine

"Ahoy, a johnnyswoop" said he who whispered in my ear
"A jonkingness" and other nonsense said
My dream continued on its own, a horse controlled by fear
Whilst pixies did continue in my head

But clarity at last did come to reign my dream in tight
The pixies disappeared in clouds of glass
I soaked and shook and listened close to whispers in the night
I waited for the chalky voice to pass

The dream was done, that much is true, but little did I know
My dark and funny friend was here to stay
"Bundunglee tree" he said with glee, "pohroary pixie poe"
I shook my head, ignored his noxious play.
