EL FUNOUN GROUP (SCOTLAND/PALESTINE) for those interested in promoting Palestinian culture in Britain. We are eager to disseminate Middle Eastern and particularly Palestinian culture in Scotland.
Our aim is: a) to challenge prevalent concepts of the Palestinian people. b) empower local Palestinians by having them participate in community activities. Established:
Our organisation was established in February 2004 when we decided to participate in the 2004 fringe festival.
This would be the sixth year of our participation in the local festival scene as El Funoun (Scotland). Membership: Some of our members come from the Scottish Forum, Scottish Medical Aid for Palestine, Hadeel, the Palestinian shop in St. Georges West Church in Shandwick Place, Friends of Palestine, our Palestine Society and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign. |
