Éirí was formed in Budapest, Hungary in the summer of 2009. Our band plays traditional Irish and Scottish folk music in a melodic and lively style. Our repertoire consists of Irish and Scottish traditional dance music and Irish songs sung in both Gaelic and English. The name “Éirí” comes from the Gaelic and its meaning is “Rising”, "Lifting", "Becoming" or “Developing”. The members of our band are: Krisztina Imhof (fiddle, vocals), Nóra Liebe (harp, piano, vocals), Dániel Szabó (tin whistle, low whistle, mandola, bass Irish bouzouki), Gábor Gyarmati (guitar, Irish bouzouki, mandolin, mandola), Gábor Zimborán (bodhrán, dance). Guests (at special events): Ildikó D. Kiss (vocals), Gyöngyi Veller (vocals), Sándor Kis (Irish bouzouki, bodhrán),Michael O'Donovan (concertina), Luke O'Brien (uilleann pipes, Irish flute), Zoltán Bíró (button accordeon), István Murányi (Scottish pipes), Zsolt Csizmár (percussion), Nick Shovlin (vocals, guitar).
