Podcasts - sorry, all about tech for now
PC Downloads - Free, safef stuff for your PC
Firefox - A safe web browser with a lot of features that allows you to customize the browser any way you like it. Just the best thing ever! Thunderbird - Email engine from the same people who created FireFox. Very safe with a good virus detection system. Open Office - a free alternative to Microsoft Office and it's compatible with all Microsoft Office documents. I've been using it for 4 months daily and love it. Takes a little adjustment but still feels the same. Paint.NET - This is a photoshop-like program that allows you to edit and create images. It's free, smaller than photoshop and supported by Microsoft. I was a bit of a beginner when I first started but this program makes it fun to learn more about editing. Be sure to download the program with the .NET framework. CutePDF - PDF creator/editor Fox-it - PDF reader. I started using this because I got sick of how long it took Adobe reader to open. It takes a while to get used but well worth it. Audacity - Audio recorder - editor. Good for transferring tape to CD, or creating your own audio files. PC ToolsGmail - Internet e-mail through Google. See your email online or be able to download it to your PC. Great for maintaining contacts as well as saving files online. Also provides a means to use Google Calander (an online calander that you can share with other groups or keep it private) and Google Pages which allows you to create a website like ours. Email us if you would like an invite to Gmail. AudioNewsNewsvine - this is a news aggragate service that pools new from all different sources. Email me if you want me to send you an invite. That allows friends to track what stories each other is reading and recommending without sending an email. Digg - Tech news SlashDot - Tech news FunFlickr - Shares pictures with everyone or just family and friends. A great resource to explore pictures of any catagory in the communities. Let us know if you would like an invite to view our pictures. Remember the Milk - Access from anywhere task manager that lets you assign yourself, others, or groups tasks online. Several catagories and it can link to your desktop calander for those times when you are not online. Your spouse can also email you a task that needs to be done before you get home. |
