Underage drinking is a huge problem because it harms the memory and learning capabilities of children, intern causing them to do poorly in school. It is also a big problem because not only are drunk teens dieing from drunk driving, innocent people as well.  Also many teens are committing suicide. Among 8th grade girls who drink heavily 37% report attempting suicide compared to 11% who don’t drink. Like stated above drunk driving is another big killer connected to drinking. Three teens die every day from drunk driving and at least six others die from other situations. Four times as many Americans died from 1989 to now from drunk driving than did in the Vietnam War. Surveys say that the most alcohol is sold to not people over 21 but people between the ages of 18-20. This problem is getting so out of control that 3/4 of 12th graders, 2/3 of 10th graders, and 2/5 of 8th graders have drank. No wounder at least 5000 people under 21 die every year from drinking. This problem can and should be stopped to save the lives of many.
