P. E. Guys

As we come to the end of the school year our students will be finishing up with fitness assessments and completing work on the skills of strike with bat, throwing and catching. We also will be doing our best to help students keep active, but rested as several grades begin SOL testing.

Physical Education will be publishing its first website May 1, on the schools website under resources. We hope this will provide information and resources to help students and families enjoy a physically active lifestyle. Our goal is to update the site with useful links, P.E. news, and physical activity calendars (PAL). Please share any ideas, activities, or websites that might be helpful to family health and enjoyment of physical activities.

“Country” is the theme for EHE 2008 field days. Dates are included in this newsletter and a letter is coming home this week asking for volunteers who would like to help.

Finally we want to thank all the students and families for their participation in this year’s Hoops and Jump Rope for Heart events for the American Heart Association. We were able to collect $12,050.00. That is over $3500 more that last year. Our students have received their thank you gifts and the school received $600 in gift certificates for equipment.

Hope to see you at our Country Field Days!
