Edufest Teacher Scholarships
Edufest awards Teacher Scholarships to teachers of grades K-12 who have shown excellence in teaching gifted students, the ability to meet the needs of gifted students, and commitment to furthering the development of their teaching skills. The scholarship is designed to reimburse/defray the costs of attending the Edufest conference for up to two eligible teachers currently teaching gifted students in a variety of educational settings ranging from a homogeneous or full-day special class to a heterogeneous classroom.
Submission Procedure
Materials may be submitted by the teacher (self-nominations are encouraged) or another nominating party. The Edufest office will make every effort to contact those who have nominated a colleague to let them know of any missing materials, provided the nomination packet arrives at least two weeks before the deadline.
The following materials must be postmarked by March 31.
- One letter of nomination that details the nominee’s exemplary work with students and why he or she would be an appropriate recipient of the award.
- Two letters of recommendation (from other than the person submitting the nomination), one from each of the following: (1) a parent of a student with whom the teacher has worked or from a former student, and (2) the nominee’s principal/supervisor or from a current teaching colleague. (Letters of recommendation may be mailed separately from the nomination packet. All letters must be signed and e-mails will not be accepted.)
- Vita and/or supporting documents for the nominee.
Please do not use staples when preparing your nomination materials.
Nomination materials postmarked after March 31 will not be considered.
