SPUD

SPUD is the name given to our 'integral' data schema by one of our clients.  It was christened by the Development Team Leader and despite the best efforts of everyone, the name 'stuck'.  So we trademarked the name and use it quite regularly now.

That particular implementation supports tens of billions of assets under management and is the central data source for virtually all operational systems.  Every day (and intra-day) it:
  • Collects and integrates reference data for tens of thousands of securities from market vendors, external administrators, index providers and other sources
  • Collects fund valuations, transactions, transfer agency records, risk data and other analytics
  • Cleanses and publishes securities, valuations and fund data to numerous front office modelling, risk, compliance and order management systems
  • Contains issuers and hierarchies and creates regulatory disclosure reports and other exposure analysis.
SPUD supports most known forms of market listed and OTC securities, cash and derivative instruments.  It also supports numerous accounting and accrual conventions which enable the consistent integration and delivery of financial data to a wide universe of users.
