A benefit of Sons of Norway membership is access to the all season day use and overnight meetings and activities held at District 2's Trollhaugen Lodge (about 10 miles east of Snoqualmie pass) in the beautiful Cascade Mountains of Washington, located on this THIS MAP {click on the map's blue arrow(s) and blue road segments for extra information}, with customized driving directions available. Driving directions from Seattle and from Spokane. Click on any of the large or small pictures shown in this Trollhaugen regional map for some idea of the nearby lakes, trails, and other scenic features. If some prospective members are skiers, don’t forget to introduce them to Trollhaugen. There is weekend and mid week skiing and good grooming of the tracks again at Trollhaugen, Cabin Creek, and the Iron Horse Trail. Of course, summer usage is also wonderful. Summertime Sons of Norway District 2 Youth Camps are great, and scholarships are available. Any member of Sons of Norway District 2-or GL Daughters of Norway (and many other Scandinavian groups), who has NEVER been a member of the Nordic Heritage Museum, gets a free one year membership. You just need to tell them which lodge you belong to. If you live in the Seattle area or plan to visit, it is worthwhile to take advantage of this generous offer!
