Fun Links

Looking for the old edmondHEALTH link. Although we are trying to sell the site, you can always find it here at https://sites.google.com/site/edmondhealth/

If you like to travel and still want to runwalk 5Ks and 10Ks, click on to Running In the USA website. Pick a locale and find out what's going on there.

If you want all things healthy, check out edmondHEALTH. They have an online magazine, tobacco cessation links, news 2 use and other information that might help you out

Although the Oklahoma City Running Club has a lot of elite runners (read: fabulously fast), they also have a section of walkers. Feel free to check them out at: http://www.okcrunning.org/ContactUs.

Training for your first 5K or 10K event can be scary to some. If you aren't comfortable with just winging it and figuring things out (this struggle can get old), then check out Jeff Galloway's way of training using the run/walk method. He urges you to run or jog one minute, then walk one minute. Even if you feel like running during the walk breaks, don't. You'll need that energy at the end.

One other great site to check out if you want to train for your first 5K, 10K, half-marathon or even full marathon is Mark Bravo's training schedules. Mark is one of OKC's greatest athletes and has provided these schedules (and more) in hopes that you too, will enjoy the run/walk experiences.
