Useful Other Software

Here is some software that I have found that have features and capabilities not found in PhotoShop Elements.  I will be glad to add any to the list you also find helpful.

Charlie

The Printshop

This software has a number of preprogramed projects that you can quickly setup without a lot of work.  It doesn't have the editing or creativity capability that Elements has but you can quickly produce any number of projects from business cards to calendars.  I use the calendar because it allows me to set up one for a whole year that I can't do in Elements.

Professor Franklin's Instant Photo Effects

I like this software for its large collection of frames and edge treatments.  Both Elements and Printshop have a very limited collection of these thereby not giving you a lot of variety in any project.  You can also save the images in gif or png formats to preserve any transparency.

The Panorama Factory

I got into making panoramas with my first digital camera.  I found that the Panorama Factory does a very nice job of stitching together multiple pictures, blending the seams and cropping the final picture.  Better, I think than the Elements panorama function.   You, of course, must take your pictures very carefully to allow the software to do its work.  All of mine have been produced with a hand held camera so you don't need a tripod.
